Selva and Tharshiny Pankaj at Dubai World Cup: Showcasing Regent Group’s Expansion in the UAE

As the joint CEO of Regent Group, alongside my wife Tharshiny, attending the Dubai World Cup as guests of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was an honour that goes beyond the event’s grandeur. The World Cup is not just a testament to Dubai’s love for equestrian sports but also showcases the city’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and innovation, especially highlighted during the mesmerising closing ceremony featuring advanced drone, laser, and lighting technology.

Our visit to the Dubai World Cup was part of a broader trip to engage with Regent Group’s teams here in Dubai. This city’s dynamic spirit and ambitious economic agenda D33 resonate deeply with our mission at Regent Group. We are excited about the new ventures we are spearheading in the region, including the recent acquisition of the Gulf Indian High School and the launch of Regent Connect, initiatives that promise to enrich the educational landscape here.

Hosting an Iftar party for our colleagues in Dubai during this visit was a profoundly humbling experience. It was a celebration of our shared values and a reaffirmation of our commitment to the community at Regent Group. These gatherings are not just about breaking bread together; they symbolises our dedication to nurturing strong, supportive relationships within our team, which are essential as we expand our operations and impact.

The Dubai World Cup itself, a pinnacle of Thoroughbred horse racing since 1996 at the Meydan Racecourse—a place synonymous with gathering and competition—perfectly mirrored our values of striving for excellence and fostering community. Each moment spent at this event was a learning opportunity, a chance to observe and reflect on how communities can thrive through shared goals and innovative pursuits.

This visit was a reminder of how our work at Regent Group aligns with the vision of global leaders and how we, as part of the educational sector, play a role in the broader economic and cultural narratives of the regions we operate in. It’s a responsibility we cherish, driving us to continually seek out ways we can contribute positively and constructively. As we look forward to more such engagements, I am reminded of our commitment not just to education and business growth, but to being an integral part of the communities we serve.
