As an advocate for transformative education and as part of the Regent Group, I am thrilled to discuss Public Learn, an initiative very close to my heart and my vision for the future of Sri Lanka. Public Learn is our answer to the urgent need for accessible education—it’s about making learning possible for everyone, anywhere, at any time.

From the outset, my goal has been clear: to democratise education across Sri Lanka. This vision is not just about providing educational resources; it’s about opening doors that were previously closed. At Public Learn, we offer free access to courses from some of the world’s leading universities. This initiative is a testament to our belief that education should be free, accessible, and inclusive.

Through Public Learn, we are breaking down traditional barriers to education by offering everyone in Sri Lanka the opportunity to learn at their own pace and on their own terms. The digital platform directs users to an array of educational resources, enabling personal and professional growth without the constraints of traditional classroom settings.

However, our mission extends beyond academic education. Public Learn is about fostering personal growth and developing character. “What’s the point of having any qualification if we don’t have character?” This question guides our philosophy. We are committed to nurturing not only educated individuals but also well-rounded characters who can lead, inspire, and make a difference in their communities.

As we continue to develop Public Learn, my focus remains on creating impactful educational experiences that are both meaningful and transformative. It’s not just about changing how we learn; it’s about changing how we think, interact, and contribute to society.
